DCMD Membrane Module Product

A direct contact membrane module system that desalinates water and is intented for use in personal homes in Saudi Arabia. The project involved developing a module that improves permeate production by minimizing cross flow and temperature polarization as well as creating a modular membrane system that allows for more or less production of permeate depending on feed availability. Control and automation software was developed by myself for this project (PLC and HMI). Experimental planning and setup, CAD design, compression mould design for seals, thermodynamic and fluidic calculations and CFD.
